Scalloping  Charters Homosassa

The season is set to open July 1 2018 and end Set 24, 2018. Nothing much has changed as far as limits and boundaries go. The limit is still 10 gallons per boat in the shell or 1/2 gallon per boat cleaned. Scallops are tasty morsels and here is a great recipe to try.

Here is what you’re going to need

Can I eat raw Scallops?

Fish and other seafood are good for you and healthy foods that said, seafood does carry some risk if it is not handled, stored or prepared properly. Eating raw or undercooked seafood, especially clams, mollusks, oysters and scallops can be dangerous. I would personally not eat any seafood that is uncooked.

Breaking news

According to the Florida Guides association scallops may be available for harvest as far south and including Pasco County .  Remember you must always launch or leave and return to a dock inside the scalloping zones. For more informations visit the FWC website here
