Tampa Fishing Charters/ Swift Fish Charters recent report
The bite continues to be strong around the part of the bay I dock the “incommunicado”. Depending on what you want to do whether it is stalking redfish, battling with snook, or catching drag screaming mackerel it all goin on now.
The snook bite continues to be an afternoon bite as the fronts seem to keep dipping south. The morning water temp is just too cold to get them really fired up. I recently noticed lots of fish laying away from the mangroves and beaches almost in troughs that are running parallel to the shoreline . If you know where some spots like that are that have decent flow, I’ll bet there are snook there. Mixed in with the snook are redfish and some really monster trout.
Schooling redfish are around and when the wind and tide are right the bite is amazing! These fish pull hard and and strike a live bait with an unmistakable deadening thud. They are a bit wary so long casts are a must.
Trout are beginning to make their way to the mid spring haunts, although it seems they are a little late this year. These big girls are hungry and once found they provide solid action and they are great table fare!
