SNOOK!
The recent hot bite has been at dead low with the water coming in, the bite starts kinda slow and then as the water begins flying in the bite increases in intensity. Snook have been the best bite with most all of them in the 22 to 26 inch range with the occasional over sized fish. The big ones kinda have a knack for catching you off guard. When you least expect it they will rip the drag with a heavy shouldered run heading directly int the bushes then ripping your heart out with a sharp turn into the barnacle encrusted mangrove roots. If your lucky and tame one quickly you can bypass the heartbreak and get a great trophy shot.

Slimy Trout
Trout are piled in deep holes on the flats and on the deeper edges feeding towards the middle of the tide. They fish are perfect size for keeping most in the 15 to 17 inch range. Client’s usually tangle with some Trout in the 18 to 22 inch range. It is a great fight and excellent table fare. I always encourage anglers to harvest responsibly and only take enough for a meal or two. Everyone is pretty open to improving the health of our fishery. By doing this we can ensure the estuary is productive for years to come.
